Christmas Is Saved After Miracle Rescue

For a blind dog named Christmas, this holiday season has been nothing short of a miracle.

According to a video produced by animal rescue organization Harmony Fund, Christmas fell into a 26-foot deep well in Bosnia while searching for food.

Nobody attempted to rescue the dog, who didn't have an owner, but Christmas was able to survive because local children threw food into the well for more than a month.

Luckily, when animal rescuers Fahrudin Caki Bravo and Ratko Koblar heard talk of the trapped dog, they rushed to the scene, strapped Christmas into a harness and pulled him out of the well.

After the rescue, the dog received veterinary care and was placed in foster care.

He was also given the name "Christmas."

Laura Simpson, founder of the Harmony Fund told ABC that Christmas is in surprisingly good physical condition.

"The blindness, of course, is from a pre-existing condition, but he's now in foster care and we’re hoping he can find a home where he’s loved and respected in the way he should be," she said.

Harmony Fund, which sponsors animal rescue missions worldwide, strives to "rescue the animals others deem unreachable," according to its website. "No hole too deep. No space too dark. We will come for you," reads a caption in Christmas' rescue video.

Now all we want for Christmas is for this lucky pup to find a loving home as soon as possible.
