A new British film that puts a gay twist on the science fiction genre is now available to stream online.Â
Directed by Mike Buonaiuto, "Credence"Â follows two gay fathers' decision to "give up all their possessions to ensure the survival of their daughter, and the entire human race" after violent storms on Earth make life on the planet unsustainable. It stars Anthony Topham, Alex Hammond and Tia Kenny and had its world premiere at London's Prince Charles Cinema in May.Â
Buonaiuto, who raised funds for the movie via an online campaign, told The Huffington Post in an email that "Credence" aims to "paint a picture of not just what sci-fi looks like when it's a bit more progressive, but what all films can look like when [they] break free of LGBT stereotypes often seen in cinema."Â
If Buonaiuto's name sounds familiar, that's because the director also helmed the viral "Homecoming" and "Invisible Parents" clips.Â
