The Islamic State's "Aden Province" claimed responsibility for a string of lethal assaults on Saudi-led coalition troops and the Yemeni government in the port city of Aden.
Four suicide bombers used booby-trapped vehicles to target a hotel housing Yemeni officials and a military base for Saudis and Emiratis in the city, according to a statement published on official ISIS channels. The Islamic State also released pictures and names of the assailants who carried out the attacks, which Yemeni authorities say killed at least 15 people.

Islamic State sympathizers celebrated the attacks, circulating a hashtag proclaiming: "Aden is taking revenge for Syria and Iraq" (#ولاية_عدن_تثأر_للشام_والعراق). One Twitter user even posted a picture of a cake with the hashtag. "Aden Province mixed the blood of the Saudi, Emirati and Yemeni apostates," another ISIS supporter boasted.

The suicide campaign marked the biggest attack on the Yemeni government since July, when it retook the city of Aden from the Iran-backed Houthi rebels following four months of devastating fighting, according to reports.
